Successful revision audit
osmed has received its revision audit without deviation by DQS.
Certificates were issued according to EN ISO 13485:2003 + AC:2009 (QS-System) and directive 93/42/EEC, valid until 18th July 2015. osmed continues to be authorized to use the CE mark on its products.

International presence at first workshop "Soft tissue expansion prior to ridge augmentation"
The first workshop for "Soft tissue expansion prior to ridge augmentation" took place at the university of Hannover and was instructed by Dr. Constantin von See.
Participants from Greece, Republic of Korea, Netherlands, Turkey and Germany were taught theoretic background information and they obtained practical experience at hands-on exercises with pig mandibles. They also had the opportunity to attend a live surgery by Prof. Dr. Dr. Nils-Claudius Gellrich.

New Products for Dental: Cylinder Dental and Cupola Dental
Something is growing!
Our slogan becomes true again: osmed extends its portfolio of products and indications with the new tissue expanders Cylinder Dental and Cupola Dental for dentistry.
These new osmed hydrogel expanders are specially developed for tissue expansion before extensive augmentation of resorbed edentulous ridges. A clinical trial of the Charité Berlin by PD Dr. Friedmann and Dr. Kaner shows:
"The use of osmed tissue expanders before vertical augmentation of strongly resorbed edentulous ridges
- reduces the occurrence of post-operative expositions from an average of 25% to 4%
- enables a vertical bone augmentation of 7.5 mm against an average of 4 mm
in comparison to augmentation without prior tissue expansion."

Business trip to Asia
Highlights of the business trip to Asia of osmeds general manager Micheal Kircheisen:
- Information exchange with BIBM - osmed distributor for ophthalmologic products in China. Clinical trial will be finished in the middle of 2010, then the process of the approval will be started.
- Following an invitation of Professor Li, Shirong and Professor Wu, Sufan Michael Kircheisen gave a lecture at the international conference of plastic surgeons of China, Korea and Japan in Hangzhou, China. Many discussions after the lecture with key persons on the Asian market will lead to collaborations.
